Report: Hospital patient care affected by drug shortages

A survey of hospital pharmacy managers found that drug shortages are causing some hospitals to cancel or delay procedures or keep patients hospitalized longer. The report said 65% of the 500 managers surveyed knew of at least one procedure that was canceled or delayed because of low supplies of at least one of nine drugs nationwide.
