Ariens Co. faces supply-chain shortages for engines

Ariens Co. is scrambling for engine suppliers for its snowblowers after it received notice that one of its major suppliers plans to halt production for 60 days. Cash-strapped suppliers are also demanding to be paid in advance or paid within 30 days instead of 60 days. "Our suppliers [are] being pressured by their suppliers to pay more quickly, so they're turning to us," said Steve Ditter, an Ariens sourcing manager.
