A Christmas present from ITRI: Ultra-low-voltage chip technology

Taiwan's Industrial Technology Research Institute on Tuesday introduced ultra-low-voltage system-on-a-chip technology that could be used in mobile devices. The SoC could operate at 0.6 volts or 0.48 volts, less than half of what most SoCs now require. The chip technology can be fabricated by Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing with a 65-nanometer process.
