United Airlines is setting a new standard for international business class with the introduction of its Polaris Studio suites, part of a larger “Elevated” interior experience being rolled out across its widebody fleet.
“United Polaris Studio suites elevate the international business class experience, offering travelers 25% more space, privacy doors, extra ottoman seating for companions, 27-inch screens, luxury skincare amenities, and exclusive caviar and wine pairings,” according to a United Airlines spokesperson.
The new suites are just one component of a broader transformation of the in-flight experience, which also includes major investments in entertainment, dining, and connectivity.
“In addition to having the largest seatback screens of any US airline, United’s industry-leading in-flight entertainment continues to evolve to offer personalized content for our customers,” the spokesperson said. “Fan-favorite movies and TV shows are available onboard, enhancing the journey for modern premium travelers.”
United also highlighted the success of Kinective Media, a program launched less than a year ago that integrates personalized advertising into the travel journey.
“Over the past year, we’ve grown our team and business partners to engage more than 108 million unique fliers that interact with our channels,” the spokesperson noted. “Kinective Media brings together all parts of MileagePlus, connecting travelers with opportunities and offers, while driving brand engagement, loyalty, and affinity.”
United is focusing on the rollout of its new interiors across its fleet, with plans for at least 30 aircraft to feature the new experience by 2027. “We have 140 787s on order and are focused on those aircraft right now,” the spokesperson said. All future 787-9 deliveries will include the Elevated interior.
United also reports a 12% rise in customer satisfaction in food and beverage offerings in Q1, driven by a $150 million investment in culinary enhancements across all cabins. “Fueled by customer and employee feedback, our teams work together to choose high-quality dining options that meet our diverse customers’ dietary needs,” the spokesperson explained.
New dining features include a grab-and-go snack bar and amuse-bouche of Ossetra caviar paired with Laurent-Perrier Cuvée Rosé in Polaris Business class, as well as regionally inspired tapas and expanded Economy meal offerings.
Connectivity is also getting a major upgrade with the rollout of free Starlink Wi-Fi, which will be available first on aircraft with the Elevated interior. “Starlink Wi-Fi is ideal for international travel as it delivers fast, reliable internet access around the world, including over oceans and remote areas,” the spokesperson said. Free access will be offered to MileagePlus members.
As the Elevated interior begins to appear on more aircraft, United is signaling a long-term commitment to redefining premium air travel. “We expect at least 30 aircraft to join the fleet with the Elevated interior by 2027,” the spokesperson added.
