Editorial: U.S. stem cell research policy "stagnates" as other nations progress

The U.S. "stagnates over a debate that isn't really about respecting life," the Des Moines Register said in an editorial urging the government to lift restrictions on stem cell research and provide more funding for the technology. The newspaper said China, England, Israel, Singapore and South Korea are moving forward while the U.S. wastes opportunities to reverse what has been a "bad policy."
