Credit default swaps show threat of European contagion is low

Credit default swaps indicate that European governments' funding problems likely will not spread to the U.S., boosting the domestic corporate-bond market. Since EU President Herman Van Rompuy vowed to safeguard the eurozone's financial stability, CDS prices for U.S. corporate debt have declined more than 7%.
